31 Days In China: Promo

In November 2016 my wife and I went to China for a month. While there, I kept a daily sketch journal of all the peculiar things I saw, of which there were many! Upon getting back to Australia I scanned, edited and collated the illustrations into a series of 3 minicomics. This is the promo video for the minicomics.

Kung-Fu: Animation Process

Something that fascinates me more than animation is the animation process. There is so much that goes on behind the scenes that never sees the light of day but is invaluable in creating something that is both believable and relatable. This video is a tribute to that process, it shows my process from thumbnail sketch to coloured character. It also gave me a chance to create a mini score using my Guzheng.

2ReasonTrek: Deep Creek

In Spring 2015 my wife Lucy and I trekked the first leg of the Heysen trail around the Deep Creek area. The trek was a part of our ongoing 2ReasonTrek project which aims to get people outdoors and to raise money for Our Home Community (a home for orphans in South India). We took a GoPro with us and filmed some of the best parts of the trek. Enjoy!

Parchbell Production Stamp

I was tired of having a boring, static picture at the end of each video I made. I wanted something that would catch peoples eye and showed off the creative nature of Parchbell. Something that was different and colourful but could also be put on the end of any kind of video. After days of fighting with bad ideas I came up with the concept you see below which also ended up becoming the logo for Parchbell.

2ReasonTrek Everest Basecamp

In November 2014 my wife Lucy and I travelled to Nepal to trek Everest Basecamp, raising funds for Our Home Community (a home for orphans in South India). We called the trip 2ReasonTrek, you can find out more about it by heading to our Facebook Page. We had a single Go-Pro camera that we borrowed from a friend to film the whole trip. It was definitely the most scary and amazing adventure of our lives! Especially when we got heli-vact off the side of the mountain…you’ll see.

Scars (for Lucky) – jPEG invisible

This is a music video I made a while back for a song called Scars (for Lucky). I wrote and recorded the song, releasing it under my band name jPEG invisible. I filmed the music video using a cheap handycam and tripod that I set up in my dads shed. The video is a letter to someone very close to me who went through a really rough time early in her life and has the scars to show for it.
